Clockmate is a chess variant where every time you move a piece, it loses one time unit, indicated by the small clocks.

If a piece runs out of time units, it is automatically removed from the board.

The goal of the game is to defeat five stages of increasingly difficult Stockfish versions.

There is a shop where you can trade your own pieces for time units, which can then be spent on new pieces. Be aware that the more time units a piece has, the more expensive it is to buy, and the more valuable it is to sell. So saving up time on a piece might come in handy.
